mr.tony

This last weekend was my grandpa's (mr.tony) 80th birthday. For anyone who has met my grandpa he does not look close to 80. All through out my childhood I was asked if my grandpa was in the mafia. He fits the part perfectly. He has a beautiful long blond haired wife (grandma Carol) with impeccable classic taste in clothes, he's 6'1 and over 200 lbs, tan, and he even wears gold chains. The kicker was always when he drove up to my school events in his white Cadillac, tinted dark windows, and a license plate that read "Mr.Tony". He would step out of his car wearing his white pant suit, dark shades, and say "there's my girl". The rumors at school spread fast (especially when the Soprano's TV show made its debut), and soon I was the girl who had ties with the mafia. My grandpa has now traded in the Cadillac for a BMW wagon, his suburban lake home for Sun City, and his white suits for shorts and loafers (with white socks). It seems silly now; especially living in Minnesota, but a part of me has always wished those kids were right.
