the fourth

Our fourth was spent at Ben's dads lake home. It's in Canada, right on Lake Superior. The home is in this small community that spends their days gardening, fishing, drinking, boating, and visiting each other. There wasn't a day when someone didn't come by with a drink to share or story to tell. Ben and I went for walk one day, and saw that one of their neighbors keeps an icebox filled with organic fruits and vegetables they grow. It's free for whoever wants them! It's quite a magical place.

Lots of islands surround their place and we spent one day on their C-Dory cruising around checking out all the spots. One island had a secret bay where lots of boats and sailors stop by to hangout. It had a deck to tie up to, a sauna (!), firepit, and tables to eat at. It's so remarkable since it's in the middle of Lake Superior! When we arrived, there were about 5 other boats docked up and the people had been there for days just chilling.

On another island there was yurt where anyone could come and stay, and on another island we found all these deserted camp spots. Sort of erie, but cool to see. I felt like we were in the show lost.

Now it's back to a short work week. Leslie and Kelly are coming up this weekend so it should be a good one!

How was your fourth?
