like mother, like daughter

 when i was 8 my mom had matching holiday dresses made for the both of us. they were black and red and covered in poinsettia's. i was mortified to say the least. fast forward 21 years later and i guess i am more like my mother than i thought. from the moment i saw this dress i thought, "dang, they should make that in grownup sizes".  i often thought about it and when i found out i was having a girl  i pictured her in this dress everytime. well luck on my side it just went on sale and i scooped it up. granted she can't wear it for another 2 YEARS (call me cazy), but it was something i just had to do. then today i saw that they did in fact make limited edition adult sizes and i almost cried when i saw they were all sold out in the camel color. but they did have it in grey (!) on super sale (!), so 21 years later i will have a somewhat matching dress with my daughter who will one day cringe when she sees the pictures of us wearing them together. i apologize, helen.

ps. after further research i found a steal of a deal on this dress in blue on ebay in size 6/7. please buy it before i do. to have a dress in helens closet that she cant wear for 7 years is a little extreme but not past my better judgement.
