sailing.

We escaped the heat yesterday by going sailing with my brother-in-law Danny. He just got back from Alaska and is living on his 27 foot Tartan with his pup, Cork. Usually the lake is too cold to jump in far from shore, but yesterday it felt like bath water. I don't know what I would do without this lake. I forgot my camera so I these were taken with my phone.

Tomorrow we are off to a cabin for a few days to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary! Ben has made the last 5 years the best years. I'm truly lucky to have such an amazing person in my life (for the rest of my life).

Linder + Brunello

I was reading A Cup of Jo the other day and came across a topic she discussed entitled "Should a woman be legally required to take her husband's last name when they get married?", and it made me realize a lot of you might not know how I got my last name which is also the title of this blog. Ben and I decided to combine our last names. We took the first four letters from his last name "Linder"and the last four of mine "Brunello".......

A lot of people always ask "is that legal?", "what did your families think?!"

Yes its legal and our families thought we we're kidding at first, but when they found out it was for reals, they liked it! Ben had thought of the idea a long time ago and we always had it in the back of our heads. When it was time to marry we both just thought lets do it! Our other option was "Brunder" which doesn't really roll off the tongue and sounds like the name of a mean pitbull.

If you didn't see earlier, Ben and I went to the BWCA on Thursday for our wedding anniversary. Besides it being really busy with people, the camp site across the lake from us blaring the radio, and a horsefly bite that made my eyelid swell up to the size of a peach pit it was really fun! hehe. It was not an ideal situation, but we made the most of it and plan on going back in September when the bugs are not as bad and there will be less people (listening to Ozzy).

We portaged through three lakes which was very fun for me. I really like portaging and our canoe is so light it makes it easier. We ended up on a tiny lake with only one other campsite. It was nice to have time and space just to ourselves. If you don't know what the bwca is check this out for more info.
