DS & Durga perfumes have merged with jewelry designer Erika Weiner to create these beautiful Victorian "vinaigrette" perfume lockets. Vinaigrette's were perforated lockets or containers with aromatic smelling salts or vinegar inside. A lady could sniff these if she was feeling faint from the unpleasant aromas of 18th and 19th-century urban centers. Later, through the 1920's, solid perfume was used. Possibly the oldest and most common type of vinaigrette involved a square of linen soaked in an aromatic liquid.
I love the idea behind these. They seem so romantic and whimsy but the scents they have created sound so empowering:
