pumpkin patch

When we were in Bayfield the other weekend, Ben and I stopped at a pumpkin farm. We try and go every year, but last year we missed out. I was excited to continue the tradition and brought home with us a little selection. The one I'm holding was a called a "Cinderella pumpkin", but we stuck with the standard carving pumpkin. I need to start brainstorming some carving ideas. Although, the only main reason I like carving pumpkins are for the seeds!



Roasted Pumpkin Seeds:


Preheat over to 350
Spread seeds over a flat pizza pan
Spray and cover seeds with Braag's
Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper
Dash of cayenne
bake till brown and crispy

Like I mentioned below. Ben and I had a pretty awesome Halloween. We had so much fun carving our pumpkins. I kind of wimped out and just drilled a design of holes around mine, but it looked pretty neat when lit up in the dark. As you can see pumpkin carving isn't complete with out a pint (it was my last day to drink!).

Ben and I are heading to the Zinema tonight to see this silent movie. The best part? Tim Kaiser is playing his handmade instruments along with it! Doesn't It look creeeeepy? Ben and I have had a pretty wonderful Halloween thus far. We ran errands during the morning (festive beer (check), tons of candy (check), steaks (check)), made a yummy lunch (pics to follow later), and carved pumpkins. What are your Halloween plans?

I have yet to wear the whole tights with shorts look. These shorts are on sale right now and have me thinking....Do you think you could wear something like this to a fall wedding? I would like to wear a loose button up tucked in and maybe a cape (just kidding). Although that does sounds like something I will probably wear when I'm a crazy old lady.

Speaking of capes. I can't believe Halloween is so close. Yesterday I spent 3 hours shopping for a spooky (but classy) window display for the boutique. It makes me want to decorate my front porch now. We already had our first pumpkin of the season smashed so I can't imagine what drunk college students would do with a front porch of decorations. It makes me want to sleep outside incognito with my hose ready to go. Perhaps not worth the trouble...
